ABOUT

Canyon Crest Travel is a luxury branch of Your Travel Center. Most of their clients are high end and have the money to cruise, stay and fly in 5-star luxury. Work began on this project as part of an overall strategy to create affliiate, co-branded websites for Independent contractors and branches of the Santa Barbara based agency.

STEP 1
PLANNING

SITE MAP

No matter the size of a site, it's best to figure out the flow and structure of a site with a client before any work is done. First we worked out the number of pages, discussed the flow of the site and how users navigate from one page to the next, and made any adjustments in Omnigraffle. Then on to the wireframes.

WIREFRAMES

After meeting with the client and doing my own research, I came up with a wireframe sketch of the website, and basic templates for each page. It was an iterative process gathering feedback and changing things up.

DESIGN

Now with the site map and layout done, the fun part started with designing the pages and interacivity of the site. As most of the company's clients are high-end I went with a modern, premium look using dramatic imagery and a fancy, serif typeface.

STEP 2
DESIGN

BOOKING PROCESS

As part of an overall agency process, I designed the booking process from client goals to booking, traveling and using the client's feedback as valuable data to assess the trip and make the next experience even better.

RETINA READY

Ran into a little problem with the images not scaling correctly, so I had to create each graphic in svg format which is better anyways especially for retina displays. Each step I had to export as an svg and place using css and the svg code to display properly on a responsive website. The background I wanted to start as white and slow build with clouds to guide the user down the page

FINAL PRODUCT

The final site had to be adjusted slightly due to the client's budget constraints, otherwise it would have been a lot cooler. Regardless, I am happy with the results. The site is to serve as a template to create additional co-branded sites, so I had to insure the backend feature templates and easily adjustable options to reconfigure/rebrand each additional site.
